Burt Weems (right) and Rich (left) are David's best friends. Rich died in Season 6, in the episode "The Best of Friends, The Worst of Times", from AIDS. Burt and David spend a lot of time together, with David often trying to shove his responsibilities on Burt so he can go have fun with girls.
